Felipe Levi Gurgel

Felipe is a first-year MBA student at Fuqua School of Business. Upon graduation, he plans to work with Venture Capital. Prior to business school, Felipe worked in several unicorns in Brazil, building sales team, indirect channels, defining GTM, mainly in the B2B environment.

Ningjie Hu

Ningjie Hu is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate at Duke Nicholas School of Environment, where she is pursuing a degree in Earth and climate sciences & Entrepreneurship. She is passionate about finding robust and innovative nature-based solutions to address climate and energy challenges and their far-reaching societal and economic impacts. Prior to Duke, Ningjie received her M.S. in Geosciences from UT-Austin and has a background in the oil and gas industry.

Christopher Kaminski

Christopher is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Duke University. Christopher currently researches unsteady aerodynamic phenomena in turbomachinery as a part of the AeroElasticity research group at Duke. Upon graduation, Christopher hopes to re-enter the aerospace industry and lead aerospace teams on projects that are ambitious from both a technological and business standpoint. Prior to his time at Duke, Christopher worked in the aerospace industry on Florida’s Space Coast after graduating with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Central Florida.

A’nna Kelly

A’nna is a third-year PhD Candidate in Biomedical Engineering studying meniscus tissue repair and its potential reversal of osteoarthritis. Upon graduation, she plans to dive into the biotech and life science venture capital industry. Prior to graduate school, A’nna received her B.S. in Bioengineering at Clemson University.

David Kim

David is a first year Electrical & Computer Engineering PhD student working on improving radiologist workflows by triaging CT images for clinical actionability. While he’s interested in creating efficient deep learning tooling in an academic setting, he also looks forward to pushing solutions through the complex venture and regulatory space. Prior to graduate school, he worked at a drug discovery startup as a software engineer.

Jonathan Kusner

Jon Kusner is an internal medicine resident at Duke. He received his MD from Harvard Medical School (HMS) where he was involved with several early stage ventures through the MESH incubator at Mass General Brigham and HMS. He worked in the Lab of Elazer Edelman at the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he began his study of cardiac hemodynamics of intravascular cardiac devices. He plans to pursue a career in academic cardiology.

Harry Landis

Harry is a junior at Duke University, where he is earning an undergraduate degree in Economics and certificates in both Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Politics, Philosophy, & Economics. He has founded two businesses as an undergrad, the latter of which has been premised on innovating fan engagement and loyalty rewards within the sports industry. Upon graduation, Harry plans to leverage his start-up and VC experiences to continue to make an impact within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, working on “both sides of the table.”

Lauren Lederer

Lauren is a PhD Student at Duke University in the Biomedical Engineering Department focused on developing digital health technologies for remote patient monitoring. Prior to graduate school, Lauren held roles as a Program Manager and Engineer in the defense industry. She holds a M.S. from Duke and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida.

Jia Lu

Jia is a Biomedical Engineering PhD candidate at Duke University. She studies synthetic biology with implications for biocomputing and infectious diseases. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a career in biotechnology, healthcare, and life science investment. Prior to Duke, she grew up in Beijing and studied math and biology at McGill University.

Alan Luo

Alan Luo is a first-year MBA student at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, currently pursuing opportunities in consulting and marketing within the tech sector. Prior to Fuqua, Alan led growth marketing efforts at a blockchain-based mapping startup, driving significant increases in user engagement and brand visibility. His startup experience spans multiple industries, including retail and self-storage, across stages from pre-IPO to Series A. Alan also brings a background in founding and advising startups, as well as investing in early-stage ventures.
