Damon is a Assistant Director at Duke Capital Partners, where he leads due diligence on AI and deep tech investments and builds the firm’s internal AI platform for deal sourcing, screening, and diligence. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Duke, where his research on point-of-care biosensors produced multiple first-author publications and patents. An entrepreneur as well as an investor, Damon co-founded ScholarAI, an AI-powered scientific search platform that grew to over one million users before its acquisition by Jenni AI in 2025. He works with founders building companies at the frontier of AI and hard technology.
